About the Role
Take overall responsibility for the management of contractual and commercial issues on construction projects
Lead and manage the commercial team, including supervision of pre-qualification submissions, commercial review of tenders, sub-contract tenders, and related documentation
Oversee project cash flow through timely, complete, and accurate submission of interim payment applications
Drive the preparation, negotiation, and agreement of project final accounts
Develop and implement project commercial strategies
Identify, manage, and mitigate contractual and commercial risks while maximising opportunities
Provide contractual, financial, and commercial advice and support to the project team
Supervise, review, approve, and endorse claim submissions
Liaise effectively with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders on all contractual and commercial matters
Requirements
Degree or above in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
Professional qualifications such as MHKIS, MRICS, PRS, or ACIArb preferred
Minimum 12 years of relevant project experience, of which at least 8 years should be in a leading commercial role with main contractors on large-scale contracts
Strong experience in contract administration, claims preparation, cost control, and dispute resolution
Solid knowledge of various forms of construction contracts, commercial and legal/arbitration principles
Excellent command of written and spoken English
Strong leadership, prioritisation, and team management skills
